Nun, wie so oft beginnt eine Erfolgsstory auch bei Angelger\u00e4ten mit dem unerm\u00fcdlichen Engagement einer einzelnen Person:<\/p>\n<p>Carl Lowrance, einem begeisterten Angler. Seine S\u00f6hne, die talentierte Freitaucher waren, stellten durch ihren Unterwassersport etwas fest, was jedem Echolotangler heutzutage bekannt ist: Der gr\u00f6\u00dfte Teil eines beliebigen Gew\u00e4ssers ist praktisch frei von Fischen, w\u00e4hrend sich in den wenigen fischreichen Bereichen die Fische in der Regel in Schw\u00e4rmen aufhielten. Lowrance wurde klar, dass f\u00fcr Angler ein Ger\u00e4t von enormen Wert sein k\u00f6nnte, welches genau diese Stellen in einem Gew\u00e4sser identifizierbar macht. Also stellte Lowrance kurzerhand das erste Hochfrequenz-Echolot f\u00fcr Angler her. Und er achtete schon damals auf etwas, das Lowrance Echolote noch heute auszeichnet: Das Echolot musste leicht, portabel und f\u00fcr Angler erschwinglich sein. Kommerzielle Echolote und Fischfinder kosteten damals um die 2000 Dollar. Das erste Lowrance Echolot gerade einmal 150!<\/p>\n<p>Doch die Produktion der ersten Lowrance Echolote lief mit Problemen an: Ein erster Produzent konnte nicht so schnell wie versprochen produzieren. Ein zweiter, zu dem kurzerhand gewechselt wurde, erf\u00fcllte zwar das Produktionssoll an Echoloten, daf\u00fcr gab es massive Qualit\u00e4tsprobleme, die so gro\u00df waren, dass Lowrance gezwungen war, 700 seiner ersten Echolote gegen neu produzierte auszutauschen. Diese Austauschger\u00e4te jedoch hatte Carl Lowrance in Eigenproduktion gefertigt und das wurde fortan, ab dem Jahr 1959, bei Lowrance Echoloten nur noch so gehandhabt. Dazu wurde ein altes Lagerhaus gekauft, in dem die erste Eigenproduktion der Echolote stattfand. Binnen weniger Monate bauten die Lowrances in diesem alten Lagerhaus quasi aus dem Nichts eine ganze Produktionsfabrik f\u00fcr Echolote und Fischfinder.<\/p>\n<p>Ebenfalls noch im Jahr 1959 pr\u00e4sentierte Lowrance das erste komplett portable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybait.de\/fishfinder-gps-plotter\/echolote-gps\/\">Echolot f\u00fcr Angler<\/a> \u2013 genannt \u201eLittle Green Box\u201c. Es wurde ein unglaublicher Verkaufsschlager. Mehr als eine Million Einheiten wurden von diesem Lowrance Echolot bis zum Jahre 1984 verkauft. Damit ist es bis heute das am meisten verkaufte Echolot f\u00fcr Angler.<\/p>\n<p>1964 war die Produktionsst\u00e4tte zu klein geworden und fortan produzierte Lowrance die Echolote in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mit dem technologischen Fortschritt ver\u00e4nderte sich auch die Art und Weise zu angeln. Angler nutzen jetzt schnelle Boote und wollten die Echolotgeber auch w\u00e4hrend des Fahrens nutzen. Lowrance reagierte darauf und stellte 1965 die ersten Echolote und <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybait.de\/lowrance\/lowrance-zubehoer\/lowrance-geber\/\">Lowrance Echolotgeber<\/a> vor, die bei voller Fahrt eingesetzt werden konnten. 1971 wurde die Produktion um mehrere Hallen erweitert. Gleichzeitig steckte man bei Lowrance immer mehr Geld in Forschung und Entwicklung, um die immer st\u00e4rker steigenden Anspr\u00fcche von Anglern zu befriedigen. Das erste Echolot mit der Anzeige eines Graphen (Grundlinie und Objekte im Wasser bewegen sich in einem Chart von links nach rechts wie bei jedem heutigen Echolot) war das Lowrance LRG-1510. Eine Echolotbaureihe, die es sogar noch heute (nat\u00fcrlich in der x-ten Version) gibt und die eine neue \u00c4ra bei Lowrance einl\u00e4utete. Im gleichen Jahr wurde auch das legend\u00e4re X-16 vorgestellt. Dieses Echolot wurde 1987 von Wissenschaftlern bei der Operation Deepscan verwendet, um Beweise f\u00fcr die Existenz des Ungeheuers von Loch Ness zu finden. 1988 ging man bei Lowrance auch das Thema Navigation an und stellte die ersten Loran-C (LOng RAnge Navigation) Produkte vor: Das Lowrance LMS-200 und LMS-300 waren Echolote, mit denen man auch navigieren konnte und die mit ihrem LCD Display und einer modernen Men\u00fcf\u00fchrung die Grundlage f\u00fcr heutige Echolote mit Navigationsfunktion legten. Diese Technik wurde konsequent ausgebaut und 1995 wurde schlie\u00dflich das erste LCD Echolot mit integriertem GPS-Kartenplotter vorgestellt. 1996 gab es dann das erste Hand GPS mit 12-Kan\u00e4len f\u00fcr unter 200 USD.<\/p>\n<p>2006 wurde Lowrance schlie\u00dflich von <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybait.de\/simrad\/\">Simrad Yachting<\/a> gekauft, aus dem das Unternehmen Navico hervorging, welches mit Lowrance Echoloten, Simrad und weiteren Marken zum gr\u00f6\u00dften Hersteller technischer Marineprodukte f\u00fcr den Freizeitbereich weltweit wurde.<\/p>\n<p>Die wohl gr\u00f6\u00dfte Neuvorstellung der j\u00fcngsten Vergangenheit erfolgte bei im Jahre 2008 mit der Einf\u00fchrung des High Definition Systems (HDS). Die <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mybait.de\/end-of-life\/lowrance-hds-live\/\">Lowrance HDS Echolote<\/a> gab es damals in 5, 7, 8 und 10 Zoll; mittlerweile sind sie um weitere Modelle mit 9 und sogar 12 Zoll Displays erg\u00e4nzt worden. Die neuen Lowrance HDS bzw. HDS Gn2 Echolote verf\u00fcgen dabei \u00fcber alle Technologien, die man sich als Angler w\u00fcnschen kann: StructureScan, SideScan, DownScan Imaging, Breitband-Sonartechnik, Trackback-Funktion oder so tolle Tools wie StructureMap, mit dessen Hilfe eine eigene Gew\u00e4sserkarte erstellt werden kann, sind bei diesen Echoloten von Lowrance integriert.
